01 Feb A Call to Action: Forgotten Children Worldwide
“What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:14-17
Jesus cares greatly about those in need. As followers of Christ, we are called to action. Forgotten Children Worldwide is an organization that has taken on the challenge to take care of those in need.
FCW’s Mission: We seek to safeguard orphans and vulnerable children from poverty, abandonment and the evils of human trafficking as clearly directed by the Bible.
FCW’s Vision: Partnering worldwide with indigenous Christians, we strive to combat poverty and human trafficking through child sponsorships, clothing distribution, self-sustainability projects, orphan home construction, and trafficking and after-care initiatives.
In December 2015, we raised money to help Forgotten Children Worldwide build a new home for girls being rescued from sex trafficking. We believe in FCW’s vision and mission and wanted another opportunity to help this organization succeed in their cause.
On January 16, the Servolution team took a road trip to Forgotten Children Worldwide headquarters in Bluffton, Indiana. We sorted through heaps of clothes. We had a group sorting clothes and another folding and packing clothes. Last, but not least, we had yet another group preparing the boxes to be shipped. The clothes are being sent overseas to India and Ukraine. The giant mound of clothes has all been donated from people around the community. (FCW is always accepting clothes-newborn through adult medium, if you’re interested in unloading any of your no-stains, no-holes clothes). We had a total of 34 Elevators at this event! It was an amazingly fun time of fellowship and service.
We hope you’re able to join us at our next Servolution event. Faith without action is dead. Activate your faith and join the Servolution team in our call to action!
“And he would answer and say to them, “The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise.”” Luke 3:11
