04 Mar Encouraging Others: Operation Gratitude
“So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Scripture states that it is important to encourage one another and to build each other up. As followers of Christ, we are called to encourage one another. Operation Gratitude is an organization that has taken on the challenge to encourage and uplift the members of our Military.
Operation Gratitude is a nonprofit organization that annually sends 200,000+ care packages filled with snacks, entertainment, hygiene and hand-made items, plus personal letters of appreciation, to New Recruits, Veterans, First Responders, Wounded Warriors, Care Givers and to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed overseas. Their mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of our Active Duty and Veteran communities, and provide volunteer opportunities for all Americans to express their appreciation to members of our Military.
On February 20, the Servolution team gathered in the gym at Elevate City Church to THANK those who have served or are serving our great country. Everyone decorated cards with fun designs, drawings, and stickers. We also wrote words of encouragement and appreciation in the cards. Some people even wrote longer letters to help bring some “light” to the soldiers’ overseas. We had several little kids participate as well and they made the sweetest, most thoughtful cards. While we created our cards, we enjoyed donuts and fellowship with one another.
We hope you’re able to join us at our next Servolution event. Faith without action is dead. Activate your faith and join the Servolution team in our call to action!
